Inspection

A critical component of risk management for adventure facilities is to confirm a system of inspections are in place. This ensures all aspects of the facility are in good working order and ready for client use.

We will inspect all components of your adventure facility. Our inspections include a detailed report outlining the status of your facility, life safety equipment and recommendations for required and future maintenance. For clients in Ontario and British Columbia, we also provide Zip Line Mechanic Services.

Four Levels Of Inspection

Upon completion of any new course installation, new element or major modification of a pre-existing element, we provide clients with an Acceptance Inspection that meets the requirements of ANSI/ACCT 03-2019 Standard B.1.1.

This inspection document can be used by the site and by future qualified inspectors as a benchmark to gauge damage, deformity, degradation, and decay.

Regulatory Information

Within Canada, different provinces have regulatory bodies which oversee the operation of specific components of Adventure Facilities such as Zip Lines and Free Fall Descender Devices. As the industry is continuing to grow and diversify in the nature of activities being made available, different provinces have deemed it necessary to implement or change regulations to better protect public safety.

Since 2014, in the Province of Ontario, the Technical Standards Safety Authority (TSSA) has required Zip Lines to be registered as an Amusement Device. This level of regulation has helped to standardize the operation of Zip Lines in the province. In 2018, Free Fall Descender Devices (e.g – QuickFlight, QuickJump) were added to the TSSA’s jurisdiction.

Regulatory systems vary in each province. We work with regulators to ensure facilities are designed, installed, inspected, and provided with training that meets each province’s specific requirements.

We are pleased to offer the following services to support clients with provincial regulatory bodies:

1

Development and submission of Technical Dossier Packages

2

Annual Professional Inspections

3

Maintenance

4

Training

For clients in Ontario, we have certified Amusement Device Mechanics on staff who are able to offer a full range of Zip Line and Free Fall Descender Device services to support Zip Line or Free Fall Descender Device operations. In addition to the above, we provide clients in Ontario with:
