CUI Certification Training
CUI Indoor Climbing Wall Practitioner meets ACCT Certification Standards for Level 2 Site/System Specific Certification
CUI’s certification system is accredited by the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT). Participants will actively engage in an intensive experience that will challenge them cognitively, emotionally and physically. An interactive learning process involves participants contributing, developing and assessing areas of strength and learning. Participants complete a written and practical test and if successful, receive certification.
Course description & pre-requisites

Must be 18 years old to receive certification

2 days/16 hrs curriculum plus testing

Valid for 3 years

Certified to be a Climbing Wall Instructor for indoor walls only

For those who will be instructing on indoor climbing walls only
Technical skills
Belaying with a variety of devices; knots; dynamic belay setups.
Rescue skills
Will learn rescue skills specific to climbing walls.
Risk management skills
Will learn operation policies & procedures specific to climbing walls; pre-use & periodic inspection skills; risk management theory; ACCT Standards.
Facilitation & Programming skills
Will participate in and learn initiatives specific to climbing walls; teaching techniques for climbing skills; route setting with climbing holds; exposure to program theory & facilitation skills; opportunity to facilitate an initiative experience for other participants.
