Sarah Oosterhuis

Sarah is the Director of Training Services at CUI and a member of the Management Team.

Sarah Oosterhuis, B.A./B.Ed., M.S.W. is a partner in CUI. Prior to full time involvement with CUI, she worked as a psychotherapist in several mental health centers and developed and directed an adventure therapy residential treatment and adventure therapy training program.


As Director of Training Services, Sarah is responsible for assessing and custom designing training programs for clients utilizing adventure programming with children; adolescents; youth at risk; community mental health populations; adults and human resource groups. She has twenty plus years of experience delivering training programs that focus on group process and facilitation skills; technical skills and risk management skills. Sarah’s passion in training is for participants to fully develop and challenge their skill levels so that they may facilitate powerful learning and change experiences for their clients.


Previous committee work includes Co-Chair of the Ontario Camping Association Special Needs Resource Committee; Chair of the Annual Conference for the Association for Challenge Course Technology; and member of the Implementation Task Force for the ACCT Certification Standards. Sarah is currently on the Board of Directors of ACCT.


When not at work, Sarah enjoys cycling, skiing and sea kayaking with her family.
